Here at Prime Time, we specialise in the repair and servicing of all Breitling models, from the quartz Aerospace to the mechanical Premier. All work is carried out on-site in our state-of-the-art workshop. We offer a comprehensive 2-year warranty on all our Breitling servicing.
A full service includes:
- Complete Disassembly: Stripping down of the watch movement to the individual screw, spring, and lever.
- Ultrasonic Cleaning: Multi-stage chemical cleaning to remove thickened oil and metal particulate.
- Part Replacement: Replacement of minor wear parts (if needed) using genuine Breitling components.
- New Mainspring: Installation of a fresh mainspring to ensure the chronograph can run without draining power reserve.
- Movement Re-assembly: Precision rebuilding using synthetic oils (e.g., Moebius 9010, HP1300) specific to high-beat chronographs.
- Regulation: Timing checks and regulation in 6 positions to meet COSC standards (-4/+6 seconds per day).

Breitling movements are workhorses, but they have specific wear points we monitor closely.
We are highly experienced with the Breitling Calibre 13 (Valjoux 7750), the engine behind many Chronomat and Navitimer models. A common issue is the chronograph hour recorder stopping or “creeping” due to a worn plastic brake lever or dirt in the reset cam. We inspect this assembly as standard.
We also frequently resolve issues with the crown tube on the Superocean. Because the crown is large and often screwed down tight, the internal threads can strip. We use specialized extractors to remove the damaged tube and press-fit a new genuine part, ensuring your diver remains water-tight.

To maintain the rugged reliability of your watch, we use genuine Breitling parts wherever possible. This is vital for the proprietary B01 movement. For standard movements or vintage models (like the Top Time) where factory parts may be obsolete or restricted, we will discuss the use of high-quality Swiss-made alternatives to ensure your chronograph continues to perform.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. The Navitimer bezel is complex and not water-resistant, meaning sweat and dirt easily get inside and gum up the mechanism. We can strip it down, clean the gearing, and re-grease it to restore smooth operation.
Breitling recommends a service every 4 to 6 years. Mechanical chronographs have many moving parts; if the oils dry out, metal-on-metal friction will wear down the gears quickly. If your chronograph buttons feel “mushy” or the watch loses time, book it in.
We can change batteries on most Breitling quartz models. However, for the Emergency (with the distress beacon), we recommend sending it to the brand directly if you require the beacon to be certified for aviation use. For standard timekeeping functions on other SuperQuartz models, we are fully equipped.
This is a common issue. On mechanical models, it may require an adjustment of the “chronograph hammer.” On quartz models, it might just need a recalibration sequence (button press combination). We can fix both issues.
We offer a 2-year warranty on all Breitling servicing. This covers the labour and parts replaced, ensuring your instrument remains reliable for your next adventure.
