- Part Replacement: Replacement of minor wear parts (if needed) using genuine Cartier components.
- New Mainspring: Installation of a fresh mainspring for consistent power delivery (vital for ultra-thin movements).
- Movement Re-assembly: Precise rebuilding using specific low-viscosity oils for quartz trains or synthetic lubricants for automatics.
- Regulation: Electronic testing and regulation to ensure timekeeping meets manufacture standards.
- Refinishing: The case and bracelet are stripped for expert polishing (Note: We use specific techniques to preserve the screw heads on Santos and Love bracelets).

Specialist Care for your Cartier
Cartier watches blend jewellery with mechanics, presenting unique challenges that we are equipped to handle.
We are particularly experienced with the Calibre 057 and 157 quartz movements found in the Tank Solo and Tank Française. A common issue is coil failure due to battery leakage. Unlike standard jewellers who might write the watch off, we can replace the coil block individually or the entire circuit, saving the watch.
Furthermore, on the Cartier Santos 100, we frequently address issues with the automatic winding reversers. If your Santos isn’t holding power, it’s often because these wheels are worn. We replace them as standard during a service. We also specialise in the correct waterproofing of square cases—a notoriously difficult shape to seal against water. We use custom-shaped dies to ensure the pressure is applied evenly when sealing the crystal.

Frequently asked questions
We recommend changing the battery every 2 to 3 years. Do not leave a dead battery inside the watch, as Cartier movements are very susceptible to damage from leaking battery acid. If the watch stops, bring it to Prime Time immediately.
Yes. We are experts in polishing Cartier’s 18k gold and steel surfaces. We can remove scratches and scuffs, but we are careful not to over-polish, ensuring the sharp edges and screw motifs remain defined.
The blue stone (synthetic spinel or sapphire) is a key Cartier feature. If it breaks, we can remove the remaining fragments and set a new, genuine stone into the crown, or replace the crown entirely if the metal is damaged.
Modern Santos models are water-resistant, but square watches are harder to seal than round ones. We strongly recommend a pressure test every year if you plan to swim with it. Vintage Santos models should generally be kept dry.
We offer a 2-year warranty on all Cartier servicing. This covers all work carried out and parts replaced, ensuring your timepiece remains a reliable companion for years to come.
